Argentinean adds to international flavour

New Perth Glory recruit Adrian Trinidad will waste no time in showing what he has to offer the club this season after jetting out with the team to Indonesia just two days after arriving in Western Australia.

Trinidad joined his new team mates on a pre-season camp in East Java where the Glory will play Indonesian Super League sides Persik Kediri (Sunday 29 June) and Deltras Sidoarjo (Friday 4 July) but has already made a favourable impression at training.

"You could tell the lads liked what they saw and I have no doubt that Adrian will fit into our squad very quickly and become an important ingredient this season," Coach Dave Mitchell said before boarding the flight to Jakarta.

Trinidad is keen to immerse himself in WA football and just a day after arriving in the state he happily took part in a junior coaching clinic and was an instant hit. The young footballers impressed not only by his skill but were also quick to remark just how much the Argentinean looked like David Beckham.

"I like Perth, I only arrived a few days ago and it has been great so far. I think I’ll really enjoy my time here," Trinidad said.

"I’m really happy to be at Perth Glory and I want to give to give the club my best," he added.

The attacking midfielder is one of seven new players added to the Glory squad thus far for the 2008/09 season and Mitchell is confident Trinidad will deliver both creativity in midfield and a presence in front of goal.

"I have seen him in action and he can score but also play other people into the match which is extremely important. He is the type of player I think we’ve missed in recent seasons," Mitchell said.
