Partizan Belgrade star Stevan Jovetic has refused to confirm reports that he has already agreed a deal that will see him line up for resurgent Serie A side Fiorentina next season.
Last month, the Gazzetta dello Sport claimed that the 18-year-old, nicknamed the "new Dejan Savicevic", had already secured the player's signature for next season, beating the likes of Real Madrid and Manchester United to the punch for one of the hottest teenage prospects in Europe. None of the parties involved were prepared to substantiate the reports, but nor has there been an official denial.
"I cannot confirm, I must wait. For now I'm focused on Partizan. We shall see how this affair will turn out," said Jovetic in his latest inteview.
Fiorentina, in the meanwhile, are said to be chasing Galatasaray and Turkey midfielder Sabri Sarioglu. Viola scout Mauro Pedersoli was on hand to watch the Turkish capital club in action against Genclerbirligi in the Turkish Cup semifinals, and it was likely no coincidence that he was sitting directly next to the highly rated 23-year-old's agent, Ali Guven.
Finally, as rumours of a summer departure for Viola keeper Sebastien Frey gather steam, there is word that the club have began talks with Palmeiras over their coveted goalkeeper Diego Cavalieri. The Brazilian side are reportedly seeking at least £3.5 million for the keeper, who similarly to Frey has also been linked to AC Milan in recent months.
