Tiatto looks the part

QUEENSLAND Roar fans were treated to a taste of what new signing Danny Tiatto is likely to bring to the table this coming season.

Oozing class and confidence despite being well short of peak fitness, Tiatto bossed the play when in possession and defended solidly when Sydney threatened.

The former Socceroo was a constant menace to the visitors with his darting runs and neat passing, displaying all the signs of a player who has competed at the very top level of the game. It all bodes well for Roar Coach Frank Farina who conducted some shrewd business when he lured Tiatto to Queensland from English outfit Leicester City.

Speaking at yesterday’s post-match press conference, Tiatto said he enjoyed his night’s work.

“Yeah it was good to play a little bit longer this time. I’ve been working on fitness for the last couple of weeks and felt good and comfortable out there, so overall I was happy with the run out I had.

“The boys looked pretty sharp and lively and it was a good exercise for us tonight. Now we’ll just go into next week’s game and work hard again to get closer to where we want to be.”
