QUEENSLAND Roar arrived on the Sunshine Coast today ahead in preparation for their clash against Sydney FC on Saturday night.
The Roar will spend the next two days in camp before the Pre-Season fixture, and with the match expected to be played out in front of a sell-out crowd of over 4000, Roar midfielder Chris Grossman said the team were settling in and preparing for strong hit-out.
“I can’t wait for Saturday; it’s obviously a big game and Sydney are one of the biggest teams in the Hyundai A-League, so it will be a good test and I’m definitely going to be out to prove myself,” said Grossman.
“I’ve been working hard in all of our pre-season games, so this is just more experience and another chance to try and work my way into the starting line up for the first game of the season.”
With the game only days away, the squad was welcomed to the coast by a typical Queensland day, with the good weather forecast to last the weekend.
“It’s a beautiful day today and it’s good to be up here at this time of year. The nice weather just adds to the experience of being up here and all the boys are settling in really well; it’s a nice place to be staying.”
