Glory to announce new owners

Thu 22nd Feb 2007
Gloomy Perth Glory fans will find out on Friday who Football Federation Australia have chosen to lead their club out of the A-League wilderness following the worst season in a previous glorious history.
FFA head of operations Matt Carroll will fly to Perth to attend a press conference on Friday morning, where the new owners of the club will be revealed.
Hot favourites to take over are mining entrepreneur Tony Sage and property developer John Spence, who have been in drawn out negotiations with the FFA after the national body took over the running of the club from Nick Tana in April.
If Sage is the man, it could mean big changes on and off the park for the Glory, with a possible move to the WACA Ground for home games already flagged.
Former Liverpool midfielder Craig Johnston, who scored in the club's 1986 FA Cup win over Everton at Wembley, has also been touted in a possible recruitment or development role if a Sage-Spence bid is successful.
